May 2015 SPRING NEWS :Looking through the Club Website it is some time since we posted "Club News"

There have been some changes over the last couple of years, not the least was the sudden and sad loss of our long standing Treasurer, Rosemary Berry – Rosemary, who ended her working career as a senior nurse at Musgrove in Taunton [along side Sally Wyatt – Kendalwood Cockers} had owned cockers and been involved in the show scene for many years; although she did not "hit the heights", she did enjoy success and gave her time and support to the Club. She sat next to me at the Shows, marking catalogues, and I certainly miss her.

Your Secretary has also had to deal with a move from Devon to Somerset – dealing with all kinds of "stuff" collected over the past twenty years was no joke – but, settling in to Woodbind Cottage now, and Club admin' has been pretty seemless – from my point of view, anyway !

Having already held the AGM, early this year, the Minutes and the Chairman's Report can be found by clicking the link above. Recent amendments to the Constitution allows the AGM to be held immediately following end of Judging at the Spring Show and we are pleased that this has meant Members have taken the time to attend the meeting.

Spring Tulips

Events in 2015: It has been necessary to alter usual 2015 Show Dates because our Calverleigh venue would not be available due to renovations – it is almost impossible to finds another venue at such a reasonable rental – our winter Show will be on 14th November and the Schedule will be posted on the Site.

We are also hoping to host a Breed Education Day seminar later in the year – this is an important and essential part of the education of potential judges who aspire to the B List. Please keep your eye on the Events Section of the Site for a date in the Autumn.

Members are reminded to contact me if they would like to post any notes or photos on the Members Section. Committee also make every effort to ensure that Members receive Schedules and notice of any other events taking place during the year – it would, however, be helpful if Members do not wait to be contacted as you are all aware of our usual Show dates and we do appreciate any contribution from the membership.

The Show Year is well on its way but I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all well and good luck for the remainder.
